Welcome to the web page of:

Guss Harrison Simpson, III

The newest member of the Simpson family!

Little G was born Saturday morning, April 29th, 2000.

Wednesday, January 21st, 2004: I just have to get better at these updates! So much has happened as Guss approaches his third birthday. Halloween, his cousins baptism, Christmas, higher fashion and his new baby sister Samantha.

Thursday, September 11th, 2003: Guss is three, the summer is over.  We were at the beach in Delaware, at the MS Company picnic, learning to swim, learning to cook and learning to play guitar.

February 2003:
**Here's a peek of the recent Simpson family vacation to Florida!**

Tuesday, February 6th, 2003: It is another year, 2003, and Dad is still lame as ever at updating the website. A lot has happened; Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a vacation to Florida. Guss experienced Santa, learned to ride a bike and likes his "coffee" (hot cocoa).

Wednesday, November 6th, 2002: Here are some shots from Halloween 2002. Guss was a lion and a scary one at that. As soon as he collected some treats he wanted to sit down and eat them. He soon got the hang of it all but lasted only about 30 minutes. It was total chaos in the village which might have overwhelmed him a touch.

Tuesday, October 29th, 2002: The summer has flown by and fall is upon us. Guss marched in his first Seafair Parade, went to his first Microsoft Company Picnic and spent a lot of time playing in water.

Here are some pictures from the MS company picnic driving a boat and riding a lama.

Thursday, May 29th, 2002: Guss turned two exactly one month ago! He had a little get together that included friends, family and plenty of cake.

Check out below the cousins Madeline and Conner showing off their swings.

Here are some additional shots from the party.

Monday, April 22nd, 2002: Guss is almost two and somewhat of a rock star. He has been preparing for his April 29th birthday performance. Some of his tantrums as of late have been pretty impressive. Here is another shot during one of his breaks.

Wednesday, December 19th, 2001: It has been way too long. But I wanted to get an up-to-date picture of Guss up. This is the one we used for our Christmas card. He is sitting on our front porch and has a plastic bat in his hand. Happy Holidays!!

At Aunt Mary's request, here is Michael and Dad.

Sunday, August 12th, 2001: I'm hoping to capture the moment sometime for you, but Guss's latest feat is stuff an entire box of animal crackers in his mouth at one time. Or so it seems to Mom and dad. He is charging around and in command.

Here is a little older picture I thought I would share with you. This shot was taken just after showing Guss some pictures of his relatives.

Thursday, July 16th, 2001: Guss has returned to his website after a four and a half month absence. Boy has a lot changed. On April 29th, Guss turned One! Mom put together an awesome party for him (and for us). Guss is walking, eating all regular foods and saying words like "ball" and "kitty".

Tuesday, February 26th, 2001: This is a first. In honor of Guss' new cousin, and the fact daddy doesn't have a new picture of Guss, Michael gets top billing! MickyMac is doing great as is Mother Mary and Daddy Dave. Here are a couple more of the new Simpson. More Michael.

In case you're wondering, Guss is almost walking now. I haven't figured out the video thing,  but as soon as I do you'll see him upright.

Monday, February 5th, 2001: Big news this last week, Guss is crawling! Also, Guss got a new cousin! Michael MacKenzie Simpson was born on Sunday, January 29, 2001. Check him out.  Baby, mom (Mary) and dad (Odge) are all doing great. Well, a little grumpy if the truth be told. But we forgive them.

Look here soon for a short video clip of Guss just after he learned to crawl. Be sure to send any crawling/walking tips to Guss at guss@guss-simpson.com. Or any baby proofing tips to his parents!

Monday, January 8th, 2001: Happy New Year!! We're back. Back here on Guss's web page and back from the east coast. December was a number of firsts for Guss. Primarily his first plane ride and his first Christmas. The Simpson family went to Delaware for Christmas which means a very long flight. Guss did great while airborne for the most part. One screaming fit and one very soiled and somewhat smelly diaper!  Mom and dad got themselves a digital video camera so look for some moving pictures of Guss soon.

Friday, November 3rd: Wow, it has been almost a month. Many apologies for the delay. Guss had some firsts since we last met. He recently had his first temperature: 102. No fun for him or for us. On a happier note, he stays in the sitting position without help now. And he had his first play time in the exersaucer you see pictured. He can't quite crawl yet, but his legs are getting stronger. He can hold weight on them with help. Lastly, he can scream with the best. He likes to hear his voice. More soon, stay tuned...

Tuesday, October 10th: The daycare sniffles have hit little Guss. He hasn't been there a month and already has had a couple of colds. He got his moms sinus anatomy that is for sure. We bought a humidifier and have given him his first shower. It all seems to help. The other big news since our last update is that Little G rolled over for the first time! He is days away from crawling. Stay tuned...

Monday, September 18th: We have to all promise not tell him about this picture installment when he gets older. He might decide that Dad was not so funny. As you can see, Guss has found his feet. He thinks they are toys. His latest big adventure was starting day care. He has adjusted very well and seems to enjoy it. The downside to this is that he got his first cold! Fortunately for Mom/Dad he is now feeling better. Be sure to email Guss at guss@guss-simpson.com if you have any specific questions or requests of him. Stay tuned...

Monday, August 30th: Guss has been extremely busy during the month of August. He had many visitors and traveled hundreds of miles. One visitor was his Aunt Deidre all the way out to Seattle from Portland, ME. For his travels, Guss drove over to Spokane. On his visit he went to see his Baka and Grandma's new lake cabin and his new buddy Nicholas Caferro. He is sleeping well and eating tons. We believe his now in the 15-16 pound range. Next week he starts piano lessons. Stay tuned...

Wednesday, August 9th: We're back! After a lengthy delay, Guss has agreed to allow his picture taken again. The two above were taken right before he started his day of baseball practice. Okay, Guss is not yet crawling much less playing professional sports, but he wiggles a lot and is very close to rolling over. AND, he is sleeping now! Almost 8 hours per night. Mommy is all smiles.

Wednesday, July 12th: Maybe I should call this section "Picture of the every other week".  Guss is growing fast and becoming more interactive. He smiles all the time and grasps rattles. Mommy gives him a baths frequently and he has become comfortable w/his tub. As for sleep, he still doesn't. Although he did sleep one time (only) for five hours. That was huge!

Be sure to take a look at a new section called Guss' Friends. Here I hope to post all his pals. Stay tuned...

Tuesday, June 27th: Boy is this overdue! I apologize for the delay, but I just had a baby and time is tight :)! I've input a new picture here on the front page. I theoretically will get a new one up each week. That is, of course, depending on Guss' sleep patterns. Stay tuned...

Tuesday, June 6th: Well, Guss has done it. He has gone out and got his very own email address! You can now email him directly at:  guss@guss-simpson.com.  Feel free to send him a note and let him know how you are doing. He is pretty good about responding between feedings :).

Memorial Day, May 29th: Wow, don't newborns ever sleep! Once again I have gained some additional new found respect for my parents, in-laws and the parents of all those large Catholic G-Prep families. Memorial Day weekend saw the departure of our live-in help Nana and Bebop. What a huge help they were. Mom and Dad are now on their own. So much to learn!  I still hope to get Guss his own email address and I also want to start a "Picture of the week".  Keep checking back and stay tuned...

Mothers Day, May 18th: After a slight delay, here is a Little G update. Today his mother celebrated her first Mothers Day. It was a beautiful day here in Seattle and started w/special French toast, thick sliced bacon and a few mimosa! After a slight rest to prepare for more eating and refreshments, Guss, mommy, Nana, Bebop and Daddy went down to Elliott Bay marina for an awesome tour of Puget Sound on Chris and Michele's cruiser. Guss loved his first salt water journey. The day ended w/some fresh steamed clams, calamari and clam chowder w/the sun setting over the Olympic mountains.

Monday, May 8th: Guss had his first visit to the doctor today all is well. He has gained back some weight and is now 6lb 7oz! Okay, not football player size, but growing. He also grew an inch to a total of 21.5 inches. As promised, I have posted a number of pictures of Guss without his hat so you can see his full head of hair. Here are just a couple of the new links with more links on the left. Proud papa, Head shot, Aunt Michele.

Pretty soon you will be able to email Guss directly. Stay tuned...

Tuesday, May 2nd: Okay, what is up with this lack of sleep thing?!! It certainly seems his lungs have developed well! He is a little guy with a big guy scream. Here are some more pictures. As soon as I can get one without his hat you will see his full head of hair. All is well here. Guss is looking forward to meeting new friends this week. Come by if you can.

Monday, May 1st: Here is a picture of Guss shortly after his birth. early Saturday morning. Look for more pictures tomorrow as I have solved the technical difficulties. Sorry for the delay!!

Saturday, April 29th: Guss Harrison Simpson, III was reluctantly born at 3:46am this morning. He is completely healthy as is mom. Both are pretty worn out after almost 4 straight hours of steady pushing (which doesn't count the labor to get to the pushing).  In the end, Guss decided to be born face up with the added help of a suction cup. Very much like a rubber dart stuck to the top of his head to help him along. It is now 11:00am and mother is finally able to get a little rest.

We have some pictures to post but we are having some minor difficulties uploading them. Please check back in a day or so and Guss should here on the front page.
